Crowds were sent fleeing in terror on 4th of July celebrations as fireworks were confused for gunshots in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Washington… sadly these were the lucky ones as separate shooting incidents in several other incidents, most prominently in Highland Park Illinois, resulted in more than 7 deaths, 18 injuries, and others who remain in critical condition. All this is illustrative of an ailing culture that little resembles the America WWII veterans like Carl Spurlin Dekel, who celebrated his 100th birthday last week, fought for.
